In the story, Tim seemed to be so admirable of Sam, especially when Sam came into the house with his new uniform and telling of the war at Massachusetts, surprising everybody- to each of their own. But was Sam's 'envy-ful' uniform thought by Tim to be really all that? Not really..
WHAT REALLY WERE THEIR UNIFORMS LIKE?

The minute men and militia men didn't really have a uniform! They had to show up duty with their own clothes, weapons, and equipment which concluded of blanket, food, water, ammunition, etc. Their clothing colors were mostly of toned colors such as blue, brown, etc.

•a knapsack in the back which would contain food, clothes, and blanket
•cartridge which contained ammunition
•musket
•canteen
•socket bayonet
